What a small-business website actually costs
Someone quoted you “a website”. Someone else quoted another number. You search on your phone so you are not being taken for a ride. Numbers on the internet lie: they depend on who builds it, how long it takes, and who keeps it alive afterwards.

What you are actually buying
You are not buying a file. You are buying time: someone writes the copy, places the photos, wires phone and WhatsApp, explains the hours. Then someone has to change a price when it changes.
An agency or a person who builds the page is selling their hours. That is why quotes jump: “a page” is not the same as “a presence you can update yourself next Tuesday”.
If the page dies in three months because nobody knows where to change the address — you paid for a brochure, not a place customers can find you.
Why there is no number here
A made-up price calms you for a minute and misleads you for a year. Market quotes vary by city, trade and how custom you want it. A guide should not play agency.
